I've recently begun conducting a very strict wolfling run (which is unusual for me) in an attempt to strengthen my gene pool by identifying individuals who are capable of feeding themselves and keeping themselves amused even when I don't make it easy for them by supplying them with lots of food and toys. If and when an individual manages to learn its vocabulary, I export it and copy it for use in another game and then usually return the original to the run so that it can (ideally) breed other healthy and intelligent individuals. However. something unusual happened this time around...
I've been running Danikat's IQ Test -- here's a description of how to do this -- on my pool of cloned creatures, and I've been pleasantly surprised to see that most of them passed (with varying degrees of success). However, I noticed that when I imported one of the clones into the game in order to test her, she suddenly began speaking in German! This didn't happen to any of the others...just her. I know that quite a few of the people in the Creatures fandom (past and present) are German, but I don't have any imported creatures in any of my worlds because the DS servers are down -- I bred her myself from creatures which I hatched, so the only thing I can think is that it must be some sort of glitch. (I have downloaded and installed several agents that were created by Germans, but I don't see why that should have caused this nor why it only affected her.) |

That IS quite curious indeed! Thanks for that link, too, I'm exited to try out that IQ test.
I want to create a C3 breed someday..
