Hi folks,
Just wanted to let you all know what's going on. In case you've tried to log on to CC Chat today, you may have noticed things are a bit... wonky.
What's happening is that the chat server (WyldRyde) is currently experiencing some problems. We've managed to get in touch with some of the folks running it and they say their services are temporarily down. The server is also experiencing a netsplit, so even though we can log in we aren't always in the same "room" so to speak.
Hopefully the folks at WyldRyde will be able to get things sorted soon, and we can all go back to our regular chatting.

Thanks for the update. I hope it gets fixed soon. The CC really benefits from having a central place to chat.

Thanks Rascii. In the past five minutes WyldRyde's services have started to return! We now have BotServ, ChanServ and NickServ back. I think CC Chat is on the mend. |

I'm happy to report that business has now resumed as normal in CC Chat. |

It seems like since I'm in an Asian timezone, whenever I log into CC Chat there aren't many people there.

I'm there, miraculously at the same time as you. And yet, you're pretty idle, lol.
But don't fret, it's the same for me too. I was close last night to posting a topic asking when people are usually on, because everytime I am, only one or two other idle people are.

CC Chat has been a bit quieter of late, with school exams, etc. but it's definitely a timezone thing. I usually connect in the early evening onwards (GMT) and that seems to be when most people visit.
It's a shame I keep missing you guys, I'd like to see you! |

Yes, more people tend to log on in the evenings. If you're on in US-daytime you won't see as many people... it's too early for most European folks, and most US folks are either in school or work.

Aw, I always miss Rascii.
I generally connect during the day while I am at work. I try to converse quite a bit, even though I am limited sometimes when I have to answer phones or do other work things.
Seems to me like Papriko and I and a few others are still in chat during the day (US time). We talk quite a bit.
It seems to be a timezone thing if not many are in chat. But I think we are pretty active when we are in chat!

Work day for you = sleeping for me. (Korea/Eastern US is a 13 hour difference, I think.)
