Did you ever name your Norn af... I assume "Did you ever name your Norn after..." but unfortunate, I can't tell what this ended in. Sometimes I do name norns after people in books I've been reading if that's what you meant. |

I named some Norns after my family and frinds, I think there where some names from Books too. And I think af would be an intresting name too. |

I've named some Norns after they died. I've named some after the words in their monikers--eg. for a Norn whose moniker has the word "fish" I'd name him "fishskin", if it's "dove" I name her "dovecoo", etc. I've named a few after characters from other games. My first two Norns in C1 were Atrus (Pixie) and Catherine (banana). I've never named them after people I know IRL, though. I learned not to do that after a certain incident when a PMN named Gehn kept kisspopping Catherine. <.<  |

*glances at PF's file* ...Yes, this is a thing that I do. I'm horribly unoriginal with names, so the creatures that aren't named for random words that popped into my head are usually named after characters or places from other canons. More commonly, though, I take things that aren't in Creatures and name them after things from Creatures. A bunch of my pets on Subeta are named after planets and species from the game, a lot of the pokemon on my team are named for breeds or plants, and even some of my electronics (yes, I name my electronics) got their names from the series. You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there. -- Jim Adkins |

In Creatures 3, I treat almost all the norns as experiments and nothing more. Therefore I don't really give them proper names but rather ones that indentify what they are, for example a female norn that's the 7th generation would be named FGen7. Now I don't even have to bother with that thanks to the wonderful Wolf Namer agent that names them accordingly. As for Creatures 1, I treat them far more affectionately and give each a name, but there's two "clans", the V clan and the Z clan of which every norn's name starts with either V or Z. The V clan lives with the basics that Albia come as is, the Z clan lives in an Albia full of extra injected food, toys, and other comforts. |
