General Forum Getting back into Creatures    Dranorter      3/7/2011 Thanks to Steve Grand reminding the world he exists with his new project, I've got C2 installed on my computer again after a decade away from it. Mostly I've been able to find all the cobs from the good old days and everything else I need, but I had a couple questions I didn't quickly find answers to, and thought I'd post them just for the sake of introducing myself and seeing what's up. First off, I never got into installing new breeds. I've found some OK lists of spritesets but I wondered if anyone's got a solid pack available for all-at-once download, so I don't waste too much time picking and choosing. Favorite breed suggestions welcome as well. Secondly, I've decided to give C3 a fair trial even though I dislike the way the norns look (silly fat bellies, weird eyes). Strangely I couldn't find C2 norns for C3, though I saw people discussing them... Thanks! I have more questions but I haven't tried googling them myself yet, so they can wait. Oh, brief introduction: I used to go by smileysays in the creatures community, I don't know if anyone would recognize it. I tried to make a new C2 world called Gugenheim which would be a huge spiral (trying to optimize amount of livable space in the world). Got as far as a room layout and background image, but I had some trouble with world-seam issues and then my computer crashed and I lost everything.   Prodigal Sock Ghosthande     3/7/2011 Welcome welcome! Mummy's Creatures has the Hebes, Malays and Pixies for C3/DS. Not sure about Ettins and Grendels. I think Razgriz was going to attempt to convert the Golden Deserts and Frog Norns, but I haven't heard much about that in a while.   Tarlia   3/8/2011 I think the conversions aren't perfect, though, at least I seem to remember the body data being a bit messed up, and one of them (Pixies?) missing their tails...?   Tea Queen Laura     3/8/2011 Hello Dranorter, nice to meet another fellow C2 fan! If you're after breed suggestions, my favourites for C2 are the Flora Norns and the Butterfly Norns, because they really brighten up my Albia with their vibrant colours and make for interesting crossbreeds. The MerNorns are essential too, if you'd like something to occupy the oceans. I'd also recommend the Ettin Family if you want to hear the pitter-patter of tiny Ettin paws. I guess that's not surprising since it took a couple years to collect it last time, and downloading Creatures 2 stuff was just about the only thing I did online back then! Several hours a day! I think I'll take another shot at making a world, since looking at Creatures brings back all my worldmaking ideas. And since I don't have the money to be a C4 beta tester T_T
