While I was browsing through my Hard Drive Back-ups, I found the program files of my happy Petz family and a world file of Creatures 2 - With date stamp 2003!
If I recall correctly - I was 5-6 by then, my father made a 2GB harddrive back-up of my old Windows 95 computer before it was going to the dumping ground.
So I wonder, do any of you have earlier (or later) game back-ups? Maybe you can show your old Creatures?
So dig out your old harddrives, you may still have virtual life in them.

I've got my entire DS directory from about that time. 03/04ish if I recall, and a C2 backup from about the same period. |

Don't think so. But I can try to recreate some of my unbearably cruel genetic experiments ![[devil] [devil]](/images/smilies/devil.gif)
I remember a 2GB hard drive being the bane of my existence, and trying to move all my downloaded COBs to floppies. (A couple of those, 99-00 vintage, *might* still be around, but they probably have nothing unique on them.) It still amazes me how cheap storage has gotten in the past 5 years or so. |

I still have C1 norns from 1997/1998 lying around in my backups. |

The oldest creature on my hard drive is a C1 norn named "Buaty". I'm pretty sure she actually belonged to one of my sisters, given the spelling.
The oldest norn from my own batch seems to be a norn named Tony, and his file is only a couple of weeks younger, but his file is corrupt so I can't import him to see what he looks like. :c
You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.
