General Forum CLabs site messed up    Geek Ettin eprillios        6/8/2010 There is going something wrong on the CLabs website, the header seems to be gone with some other small issues. Also they seem to be moved to an other host according to the new FavIcon and the personalized error pages, and the forum gives a 404 instead of an board notice. I'm wondering what's going on. The ironic thing is that I was planning on saving some of the articles as text file back-ups on my computer this week. It does seem like they're moving servers, so we'll see what happens. People might have this idea that GE is evil/doesn't care anymore/whatever, but I know for a fact that this is crap. That's why the website doesn't work well - because they can't set the configuration of the web server, so the website must be remade to be compatible with the environment set by their new host. I've been in contact with Mark Stamps (Sparky) and indeed the servers have been moved round. Mark was unaware that some things were broken, and, though aware of others, he has been too busy with other business to get 'round to the repair. He has only recently fixed the pages for the co.uk addresses and if you use http://www.gamewaredevelopment.co.uk all pages should work properly. I'm currently helping him track down errors on both sites, so if you notice something not working please send me a message. He is also currently preparing to fix a problem with the DS server that causes your worlds to be registered with an incorrect date. This is currently causing the World History to be displayed incorrectly. He's busy with meetings for several new contract possibilities, and after that's finished he'll try to get to the server on his own time. Please have patience with him, he's a very busy man. He's trying his best to fix things for us on his own time, (i.e. he's not getting paid for his time) and he considers it a point of honor to make sure that his ettin crew flib dis and dat to ensure the DS server still runs properly for fans of the community.
