I thought it would be fun to discuss creature religions! What do you think the creatures might do religion wise? Maybe your religion could have the hands name in it! In my C1 and C2 worlds I have Scottism!
The world was created by Scott the hand through copying and pasting, a unique process! He created the first 2 norns and taught them his ways to carry on in generations to come! Whenever there is a birth, the baby is blessed by Scott and given a name. When death arises, Scott tickles the corpse to help it pass on peacefully Scott also protects all Norns from grendels!

Mm...I never even thought about that. I guess my Creatures don't have a religion they follow. They just have someone they look up to...or at, depending on whether they realise I'm there or not and whether or not they give two figs. XD

That's funny. I don't think my Creatures would consider me a deity, though--if only because I tend to leave most of them to their own devices. I think any comparison would more than likely be to a figure like Dullahan or the Bogeyman--a figure who snatches up violent children and banishes them to live alone in the crypt! I would be the creepy, skeletal, floating appendage that comes in through solid walls when you're sleeping and spirits you off to parts unknown [as a test subject], sometimes never to be seen again!
That's about how the Norns would see me. Of course I'm a regular Santa Claus to the Grendels in my worlds... Food, toys and Norns for everyone, ho ho ho!

Story-wise, my creatures usually see the Hand as just another, albeit more powerful and longer-lived, creature. They recognize its potential, but they don't treat it like a god (though there's still some tiptoeing involved when interacting with it). Game-wise... I'm so sporadic and calculated in my appearances these days that my norns probably consider me to be some sort of critter or gadget; i.e. nothing special. But I mostly do feral runs so my interactions with them are fairly limited.
You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

Don't forget "Eggism" - arguably another branch of religion for our C1 Norns. |
