Has anyone noticed the misleading articles on wikipedia about creatures? It says the Creatures community is almost dead! *indigant glare* we most definetly are not. Random thought.

That might have been written by an oldbie, who can remember the heydays of the Creatures Community, when JRChat and AGC were really really good. If we tried to fix the article to talk about the activity now, we'd get yelled at to find "reliable sources", whatever that means. :P

Compared to 1998ish, I'm sure, we ARE almost dead.

But almost dead is a bit overboard. I mean, how many sites are there dedicated to Creatures? 100? Maybe not that many but there is a lot.

I still prefer "stagnant" over "dead" myself. GW's shutting down of the official forums have put a damper on things, but community activity doesn't seem to have taken a huge dip over the past year or two, IMO.

You have to be honest with yourself when you are writing. If that leads to somewhere unexpected then perhaps you really needed to go there.

Nono, compared to a few years ago it IS almost dead. Been going downhill since DS came out according to the real oldbies. Around four years ago or so stuff really plunged but its been a stable "stagnant" ever since.

Although there have been a few new generations of DS-loving tweens since then, they seem to come and go.

Yes, I'm the forum [devil]... Any questions?

No, I do believe we are nearly finished. :P

I regret to say that I belong in that crowd. Real life and other activities have been getting in the way of my time so that I can barely play the game anymore, let alone visit the forums.

I refuse to believe that. You can't lose hope when it's hopeless. You gotta hope more, then put your fingers in your ears and go, "Blah! Blah! Blah! Blah!...”

...

Stepping away from the Futurama DVDs now.

Epaeris brings up an interesting point. How many active Creatures sites/forums are there? The only ones I regularly visit are this site, Creaturetopia, and A2K. I know there are a handful of others that I simply don't go to, but I don't have any idea how how big that handful is.

The community is dying because simply no one takes intrest in creatures anymore, it's a game that hasn't been kept fresh and new, and over time, it rotted. I mean, the CC can still be revived with alot of pain and effort, but I don't see it happening anytimes soon.

Not really active around these parts anymore.

If Creatures 4 was released I believe the revival would be much eaiser.

This is why I'm really excited to see what comes out of the Lifandi project. It's not Creatures 4, but I think it has the potential to draw people into our community, and maybe the AL genre as a whole.

Four that I know of. CreaturesCaves, Creaturetopia, Albia 2000, and Kingdom of Aithalis.

I honestly don't have much to say here that hasn't been already said except that I'm embarassed beyond words of my 2005-2007 posts here

Sorry, man. We all ready had THAT discussed. I do believe that that one thread I made as an over-enthusiastic pre-teen has damaged my internet reputation for all time, so please don't bring that up again...

I think it's better we place our hopes in Lifandi than a C4, third party or not.

I've been on that street before in my short and meaningless existence, and it only made the letdown that much worse.

...

Meh, don't listen to me. It's the darn teenage hormones talking. :P
