Initial testing suggests The Lost Cave may not be stable on my system, so I'm not going to use it for the run, just in case. |

OK. Initial testing yesterday showed me a bunch of things, like the world didn't have enough space (added Biodome) and had too much in the way of ecology (those grazers are piranha food). The norns also breed at an incredibly high rate, so I'll be using Amai's population control so they can only breed when they're adult. Certain norns will go together, in certain places - for example, both butterflies to Veridia - then once everyone's in place I'll set it going. Knowing what I'm like for interfering, I may just run it on fast ticks and do a "catch up" every 15 minutes of game time. I'll start it later this evening (GMT+1) - it's so hot here at the moment I fear for my processors. |

No - I don't think I've got the computing power, and to be honest, it's the wolfling run of insanity - I doubt I'd have time. [Just short of an hour of game time is taking about 90 minutes, but there's no discernible lag.] We had the first death and birth before I'd even imported all the norns! There have been seven deaths (mostly starvation) and four births, and it's so frenetic I've exported the babies in case they die of neglect. The run is nearly an hour in, and all the areas are now populated - I'll put full details on the blog. Tomorrow! |

Tag team update:
7 deaths: Brandy (Frick), Mango (mfb), Aggie (Kappsune), Fanatical Uncle (Jessica), Gino and Sally (DarbyDoo), Astra (HavenHoney)
4 births:
F Striped Flight, child of Joesample (mfb) and Alb (magpie-angel)
M Colossal Birds, child of Cissie (Leporidae) and Mi (Feddlefew)
F Immense Sand, child of Cissie and not sure, possibly Nonce (NihmsLab)
F Clear Rice, child of Lily (Grendel_Man) and Stewart (Minx)
I'll do a blog update tomorrow with who's got which norns. When I start the game up again, I'll replace the seven dead norns with norns of the same gender from the same players. |

I'd be interested in the pack containing my norns.
Also, I read the update on your blog and noticed that you said you couldn't find a way to pause all creatures without pausing the game. While this information does come a bit too late for this WR, for future reference you can pause creatures only by entering the following into the CAOs Command Line (Shift + Ctrl + C).
Do note that this doesn't let you pick up creatures, though, and that pausing and unpausing the game will undo the effects.

Detailed updates on the blog:
Setting up the run - details of the world set-up
Norn allocation and distribution - who got what and where they went
The first hour - part 1 of the run
I've sort of renamed it the Relay wolfling run, because Tag Team implies they could come back in - which isn't going to happen here. :/ |

Thanks for the tip, Grendel_Man - I might try that one in future. It would at least pause creatures while other imports are going on (always assuming you can import while the exising ones are paused). It's weird, some of the things that are supposed to work with enum don't - I couldn't use it to apply vocab to all norns in the world, for example - but other things it does seem to work for. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. |

Depends how the run goes, and how much there is to report - but at least a blog post per hour of game time, I should think. I don't really want to spam here with it, though I'll probably post status updates here for anyone who doesn't want to wade through the blog stuff.
I've just uploaded zip files of HavenHoney's and Grendel_Man's norns to CC, so they're waiting on approval. If anyone else wants their norns (or wants them renamed in-game or anything), sing out. |

Oh ye gods and little fishes. Another 9 deaths and 15 births! In about half an hour of game time. (Which took about 90 minutes of play, because I was making frequent use of the pause button, checking baby data and taking photos.)
9 deaths: Stewart (Minx), Rude Distribution, Classy Time (magpie-angel), Helpless Airplane, Nonce, Historical Seed (NimhsLab), Black Gun (Kappsune), Horatio (Jessica), Kairi (InsanityPrelude).
Most of the deaths were in the jungle, due to sickness.
15 more births - full details on the blog. It's... complicated. Cissie, Slapper, Lily, Material Slope and La have all laid 2 eggs. Most males have only fathered a single offspring, with the exceptions of Riku (2, both with Material Slope), Gorm (2), Cheech (2) and Misunderstood (5, with 4 different mothers! He gets around.)
27 minutes of game time, and in the time it took me to log in to check the time, another norn was pregnant. :/ Round 2 is going to have more norns in it than round 1 at this rate...! |

Quick update on Part 3: 42 minutes of game time, 1h 20 of 'real' time.
9 new norns imported.
3 deaths - Cissie (Leporidae), Medwyn (NimhsLab), Cleo (magpie-angel) NimhsLab is now down to 3 norns.
4 deaths of babies - 3 shortly after birth, one murdered by another newly hatched norn. I've got Amai's interactive egg script installed so the norn may have been damaged in the egg, but even so - the other norn was slapping the heck out of her.
Births - 36. 40 if you count the 4 that died.
This is moving from interesting to slightly disturbing... I'm starting to feel like the sorceror's appretice. :S |

She was in the desert - seemed to like it there, but it's not a healthy environment, especially when norns keep tripping the volcano! She had two children, both of which were safely exported. |

I've probably munged the permissions. It needs updating now, anyway... your norns have had three hatchlings: Alb fathered Striped Flight and Watery Servant, and Garden produced Pumped Kite. The last of your norns, Emma, will go in on the next leg of the run. |

Some stats: 59 births so far, 38 females and 21 males; 3 females died shortly after birth, one male apparently slapped to death. Counting ownership of both, greatest no. of offspring so far is Kappsune (14) with DarbyDoo second (13). Greatest no. of girls hatched is a tie between DarbyDoo, Grendel_Man and Frick (all 7), greatest number of boys hatched is HavenHoney (12). Both InsanityPrelude and Grendel_Man have a hatchling produced from two of their norns - Caring Example and Quickest Comfort, respectively. The link to the latest offspring spreadsheet is further up-thread (link now works!) |

They're doing pretty well, actually - you've only lost the one, and your norns have been mothers 7 times and fathers 3. About third place overall, if we're counting. |
