I really don't think we need to say he is better than she you know because i think everyones contributions are worthy of tribute. Now shall we go for nominations or shall i just make a survey form where you type in who you think deserves the award. that is my favored choice. Go Pern! |

Silver Hand Award it is. The point of an award isn't to point out that someone is "better" than another person, but just handing out the same award to different people does make more sense. And it'll take a lot less time to render them than doing multiple versions. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by nominatons as opposed to a survey, could you please explain a little more about that?  |

In that case a survey might work better. It would relieve the burden from the poll creator of having to think up every single person someone might want to nominate, and would give people the freedom to suggest however many candidates they want. |

The ceremony will be after I finish the awards, I hope. Can't have an award ceremony without awards.  I plan to animate them all tomorrow, and I should be finished in a day or two. In the mean time, here's a preview of what they'll essentially look like:  Do let me know if there's anything that should be changed regarding size/speed/quality/anything else. Just ignore the "wobble", as this is still just a test and I'm still tweaking the final version. |

Although there's something I'm still not clear on... Say I was going to cast my vote for The Albian Awards (for metarooms): Do I name the metaroom, or do I name the creator(s)? Or doesn't it matter? |

I don't think there would be a specific time period/game. There's been some great stuff for the early games too. Laura, I don't see any harm in listing both the person and their contribution, but it is the person that's being voted for. It could be very confusing to only mention the project! Take C2toDS, for instance: there are two separate projects with the same name, if someone just said they wanted to vote for "C2toDS" there would be no way to tell if they were trying to vote for Moe's project or Geat_Masta's. |

Well, it's safe to say that the award graphics won't affect the results release date. They're finished.  What would you like me to do with them? I could upload them to my site for hosting purposes easy (a bunch of animated GIFs aren't going to take much space), or should I email them to you for now? |

I think the community awards are a great idea! My only issue is that I'm not too experienced with a lot of the categories, and wouldn't know the first place to start in terms of nominations. I kind of wish there had been a list of possible nominees before deciding on the final winners, but I still think this will work out! I just need to do some research, although it seems like there are a lot of great candidates for each categories. Good luck to everyone, and thanks for putting this together! |

Sorry guys, since I'm in Creatures Community since last year (May 2010) I don't know do we vote for breeds, agents/cobs and metarooms that have been on CCSF '10 website, or we are voting for B/A/M/W (breeds, agents, metarooms, websites) we like in general? I'm a hardcore christian first, and a creature breeder second. |

It isn't about the CCSF festivals. You can vote for anyone in the community who has done something you like/think deserves an award. Doesn't matter when they did it. For instance, you could vote for Moe/Liam for C2toDS if you want even though it isn't out yet, or Laura for being such a good admin in general, or Wafuru for making the Mernorns way back when. There aren't any limits, vote for whoever you want. The survey really needs clarification, doesn't it?  |

I think, as a note above the survey, something along these lines would be clearer: Please be sure to name a Creatures Community member under each of these categories. Including their specific contribution is optional. And remember, your choice can come from any time in the community's history. I hope you don't mind some constructive criticism, but when you're organising an event it helps to make any information as clear as possible (i.e. the survey) that way it's less likely that people will become confused. |
