Things/rules may be different, but as I learned in class (During the ASU course we took),
Probability uses only numbers 0 and 1, and any decimals in between those two.
1=100% likely, completely likely, it will happen, no numbers higher, as they'd still be classified as 1
0= Not at all going to happen, no numbers less than this can be used

You can only give your entire, full, complete effort, like this:
John made 1 pie,
Jenny ate 200% of it.
There is one pie, and the one pie equals 100%, 200% would mean an extra pie, which, technically, would be part of that 100%, making both pies 50% of the total pies each.


Now, with 7.840, that would mean 784.0%, but, 7.840 is the chance of there being single cell life forms on another planet (Or insert other thing).
BUT, probability ranges from 0-1, so, 7.840 is impossible!

I'm just guessing, but was it a typo that was supposed to read '.7840'?
