I love tea(a Kiwi)..I'm not too sure on my favourite blend yet as my taste changes and also the fact that tea is generally in bulk for cheap so changes to blends don't occur particularly often.
I drink it with milk to cool it a little, thicken and sweeten it, with about 2-3 sugars. While flatting I often have it with filter water instead of milk(buying 2L milk only to find its gone or been left out all day is annoying, even more so when its not replaced.. which is every time).
Coffee is particularly vile to me, but sometimes I manage it.
@nornloverian, yeah extreme amounts of caffein does seem to have a calming effect. I remeber at one stage I was having about two 350mL cans of energy drink a day, and when I went cold turkey weening myself off them, I didn't sleep for three days. Plus, when I'm really stressed, sometimes an excessive energy drink can calm me down. They give a rush for only as long as its in your sytem, then you body in comparison to what it had just been feeling, just seems weak in comparison
Wow, I've written a fair amount . Oh well, enjoy your next cuppa Laura! |

Thanks Glabrezu It's 12 noon, I've up since 9:15 am, and I've had four cups already! I tend to like mine with milk and 2 sugars too.
Also, I never imagined this topic having so many replies - tea lovers unite! lol
It was on the news recently that if you have up to 8 cups of tea, or more, per day, you're less likely to develop strokes and heart disease. I wish I could dig out the bulletin to share with you all, I found it a really interesting read. Whether there's much truth or evidence to support this idea though I don't know! |

. . . Where's angel to post here? lol
And, in reply about Caffeine - Who hasn't had it? It is in your soda, your desserts, your snacks. .. I just am not one of those young kids who get all spazzy about caffeine for no intelligent reason. I'm also a morning person - Bright eyed and bushy tailed, even at 4am (which I woke up to every weekday last year anyway, so, eh) So I have no need to guzzle such substance in an amount over the usual.
Sorry if I sound like a party crasher, hahah.

Oh, I really don't care about caffeine content, except that my mother wouldn't let me have black tea for years because of the caffeine. But I don't drink black teas for the caffeine, I drink them for the flavor. By the way, I just had a phenomenal Sugar Cookie herbal tea. I thought it sounded really strange at first, but it was delicious with just a little sugar. I put milk in my black tea but only sugar in herbals. What do you other tea drinkers do to season it?

Usually I have milk and sugar in black tea (we British love this affectionately called "builders tea"! ), though I'll occasionally have black tea on its own. When I drink fruit teas, I'll sometimes add some lemon juice or honey.
Sugar Cookie herbal tea sounds like it's really sweet. |

Yeah I'm not a fan of green tea, I'm a black tea man. And I've heard of the health benefits of tea too, maybe news or some documentary-news hybrid. Anyway, I've quickly looked it up on wikipedia and it basically says that results aren't too conclusive. I'd take everything with a grain of salt, as always. Here is the link.
And wow, I didn't realize tea had a significant amount of caffeine, no wonder we love it. I guess if it wasn't in there though it would be more of a herbal remedie then.
And nice @ having so many cups in a short time. My favourite way to drink it is with a good book(or now I have a comp, a PDF lol). |

I'm a big fan of Tea too, although I do like Coffee a bit. I also like dunking biscuits into tea, but I hate it when pieces break off and go all soggy. Yuck! |
