They can survive on land for quite some time after birth, making it easier to get them to water. Critters are a prominent part of their diet, and they possess the odd ability to generate starch from nothing when underwater.
They use the sprites of the Bruin Norns (Norn A) and the Civet Norns (Norn C). |

Maybe you're waiting too long to get the Gill Norns underwater. Hard to say what "quite some time" really means. If you put one in water straight away, does it still die?

Gill Norns have gills and aren't amphibious like most aquatic Creatures. So they will die when they aren't underwater.
