type | Genetics Only | author | Turtle 1337 | website | [view] | Bear Grendels hibernate when they get cold, and females will protect their young up until their children become adolescent. They're also a bit more aggressive than normal grendels, and will get angry faster.
They use the sprites of the C3 Ettins (Ettin A), Bruin Norns (Norn A), and Pyrite Grendels (Grendel G). |

type | Genetics Only | author | Marcus Kurzbach | updated | 3/10/2014 | website | [view] | PLEASE NOTE: The Paradox Norns genetics are special, in that they are a toxic breed which can reproduce with any other breed with a high chance of the child being able to survive. However, there is a trade off. If the Paradox Norns should become infected with certain chemicals, they become little more than zombies; unable to breed, no drives and immortal, unless they suffer enough injury to kill them.
The Paradox Norns are just that: A paradox. They can survive in either toxic or 'clean' environments. Also, when breeding with other Norn breeds, the resulting offspring will be either 100% Paradox, or 100% other, unlike standard Toxic Norns which produce offspring that may contain conflicting genes. An exception would be if a Paradox Norn breeds with a Toxic Norn, in which case the offspring may be either 100% Toxic, 100% Paradox, or a mix of Toxic and Paradox.
They use one of the following sprite sets from the following breeds, which must be installed to display properly*:
Bengal Norn
Bruin Norn
ChiChi Norn
Civet Norn
Dream Norn
Fimbul Norn
Gargoyle Norn (C3/DS)
Magma Norn
Primavera Norn
Yellowstone Norn
They are also distinguished by the constant presence of a Banshee Grendel tail, if this breed is installed. If not, they have a standard C3 Grendel tail.
*Note: It is not required to have all of the listed sprits sets installed. The Paradox Norns have several different genomes, each genome uses a different sprite set from the list. |

type | Genetics Only | author | Yurtra | updated | 5/11/2013 | website | [view] | Crobster Muncher Norns cannot breathe above water. Their main diet consists mostly of critters, but they can digest detritus as well. This enables them to get all their nutrients from crobsters, hence their name. They're based on Hardman Norns, and as such are every single bit as angry as a Hardman Norn is.
They use the sprites of the Hardman Norns (Norn N) and the Sea Ettins (Ettin S). |

type | Genetics Only | author | KittyTikara | updated | 5/5/2013 | Coming forward in time all the way from 2011 is an Ettin breed I thought I had lost! They were inspired by what I thought were the worst traits for a Creature to have, eating too much, and breeding too much. So I made them, named them Locust Ettins, and almost lost them until I found the only surviving member, Locust. In this little pack here is a .gen file from Locust, a few adults, and Locust himself, who's now a bit old. I can't remember if they are CFE or not. |

type | Genetics Only | author | Ylukyun | website | [view] | These Norns were created by Ylukyun for CCSF '10. The most interesting part about them is that they require water to breath. Other eating critters and getting crowded easier, they are mostly normal CFE norns. Gill Norns require the Desert Norn sprites to look like they are supposed to. |

They use the sprites of the C3 Grendels (Grendel A). |

type | Genetics Only | author | Grendel Girl 88 | website | [view] | The Water Ryuujin Grendels are amphibious grendels who are more placid (but not entirely peaceful) than normal grendels, don't age when they lay an egg, and don't steal other creature's eggs (they tend to rest around eggs instead). They also have a "vicious" variant that is aggressive towards norns and ettins.
They use the sprites of the C3 Grendels (Grendel A). |

You'd think they're the same, and yet so much has changed!
Back-view tail sprites are fixed
Old age facing and back view sprites are fixed
Completely reworked the atts from the ground up
The breed now has a proper adolescent age
---
General Information:
The Pearl Mermaids are an amphibious breed. The babies are born with legs and only grow a mermaid tail later in life.
NOTE: Because of the trick used to make the mermaid tail possible, their atts have been modified quite a bit, and they may not crossbreed well with other breeds.
Special thanks to Norngirl for in-game testing and Razgriz for genetics. |

type | Genetics Only | author | Doringo | updated | 4/30/2013 | The idea of making this genetic breed came to me when I was attempting to get the pigments correct for Carpe Diem. When I was fiddling with the pigment bleed I figured out how to make treehuggers have autumn leaves instead of normal, green ones.
The Autumn Treehuggers are pretty much your everyday CFE treehugger. Any alcohol in their system is immediately converted into energy, allowing these norns to live in conditions where available food is alcoholic (Needs to count as food/fruit/seed though, they don't have any instincts for eating manky). |

type | Genetics Only | author | LummoxJR | Nova Subterra is the first genome for Creatures 2 that not only addresses the problems in the original genome, but expands on it. The Norns of Nova Subterra have four new brain lobes, but only two new chemicals are needed to regulate their bodies. While Nova Subterra Norns can interact with other Norns without a problem, they should not be allowed to interbreed. |
 |
type | Genetics Only | author | Chris Double, Lis Morris | updated | 5/31/2014 | Akamai Canny Norns have three new lobes, the Echo, Search and Choice Lobes which enable them to:
1. Identify a need, and learn what object is needed to satisfy the need
2. Deduce what effect a particular object on a particular action has
3. Search for the the object they're interested in at the time
A total of 79 alterations were made to the original Norn genome for the Canny Norn genome. The improved Akamai Canny Norns have an even larger concept lobe, improved memory, and a longer life expectancy of ten hours rather than five. |
