Creatures 2: Potion Mixing 101 Games GimmeCat | 1/21/2018 | 11 | Ever wondered how to use that scary-looking potion machine next to the volcano? It's surprisingly powerful. Here's a cheat-sheet.

This guide was inspired by NornBreeder, who asked:
"Can anyone explain the mixing machine in C2? Do the different colored liquids do anything?"
As you can see, the machine has four buttons, corresponding to four vials that fill up with liquid the more times you press the button. Each vial can be filled with up to 10 units. But contrary to what you might think, this doesn't affect the strength of the end result. It actually determines WHICH chemical, specifically, gets added.
There are four buttons, so you can produce potions with up to (or less than) 4 chemical effects, but the amount of chemical injected when a creature drinks the potion is always 50.
With that out of the way, here is the list of which chemicals are added depending on how much you fill each of those 4 vials.
Starting from left to right (1 to 10 clicks)
Vial 1
1 Pain
2 Need for Pleasure
3 Hunger
4 Coldness
5 Hotness
6 Tiredness
7 Sleepiness
8 Loneliness
9 Crowded
10 Fear
Vial 2
1 boredom
2 anger
3 sex drive
4 injury
5 suffocation
6 thirst
7 stress
8 DecASH2
9 DecASH1
10 ConASH
Vial 3
1 Starch
2 Fat
3 Protein
4 Water
5 Belladonna
6 Geddonase
7 Glycotoxin
8 Alcohol
9 Vitamin E
10 Vitamin C
Vial 4
1 Histamine A
2 Histamine B
3 Sleep Toxin
4 Fever Toxin
5 Insulin Shots
6 Glycogen Synthetase
7 Dehydrogenase
8 Prostaglandin
9 EDTA
10 Sodium Thiosulphite
So, for example, to create a bunch of pure Sex Drive potions, you would fill the vials with (0,3,0,0) clicks.
Or for a cool glass of water to bring down a hot norn's temperature, try (4,0,4,0).
If you want to be really mean, a potentially lethal poison can be mixed up with (1,4,5,4).
And to cure Heavy Metal poisoning, try (0,0,10,9).
That's all there is to it! Now, if only the game shipped with an instruction manual like this to begin with... |

Blush! Blush! Blush! Nah, I still don't think I could do it.

You're gonna make me blush... It really wasn't all that difficult, just a lot of looking up which numbers corresponded to which chemicals. I'm surprised it hasn't been done a long time ago!

Gosh, you are clever lol. That contraption in C2 has always been a mind-boggle for me!

|
I read the script, so, maybe an hour total to figure out all the logic? Then it was just a simple matter of confirming in-game with the help of the science kit.

Hey, GimmeCat, how long did it take you to work all of this out?
| |
|
Thank you! This is amazing.

Go right ahead, Layla!

Hey wow, this is great!!! Would you mind if I made a video covering this? I'll credit you for the info!
