C3 Exodus install messing up?

When I install Exodus, C3 seems to be missing a bunch of files. The only one I know for sure it's missing is Machine.cfg, and even if I replace it, it doesn't help. I noticed when DS wouldn't recognize C3.
When I try to launch C3, it instantly throws me this:

"NLE0001: 'Main Directory' setting not found."

Any idea why this is happening? I install creatures in my documents if that helps.

From memory I think when my DS wasn't recognising C3 it was because GoG had installed the file path with a space in creatures and so I had to go through editing the registry as well to remove the space, even after fixing my Machine.cfg, so it's worth doing a little search in the registry to see if that's all good there too.
