C3 (Docked) Grendel Mother Laying Norns | |

If I leave it turned on, the grendel egg layer in my docked worlds is laying baby norns. These sort of look like a blue gargoyle norns, always male.
It doesn't ONLY lay them. It also lays regular grendels, or banshee grendels if I enable the grendel upgrade.
I'm not entire sure what norns its laying or how to find out. They don't appear to be in any of the Muco breeds...
Can anyone help?
I'd gladly upload my entire C3/DS folder set to google drive or something if it would help someone solve this. |

All blue gargoyle norns are male, iirc
there is a patch that fixes this so it only lays genfiles that start with gren- instead of just the letter G... i think it's in the essential downloads page on the wiki |

Known bug, it doesn't check if what it's laying is grendel, only if its gen file starts with g.
gargoyle starts with a g. |

Thank you, everyone!
I've been playing for years and never had this problem. I guess I didn't have any G breeds.
I was able to find the fix for this and the ettin mother here:https://web.archive.org/web/20170307231428/http://www.creatures.de/c3agents3.htm
I'm pasting the page because most of the links that I came across to the page did not point to the archived version and it seems that the page doesn't exist on the 'current' version. Figured it might help some people. |

Many norn breeds actually have their genome file start with "norn." to prevent this exact issue. The creator of the Gargolye Norns didn't do that, causing this particular problem.
Renaming the gene file however wouldn't help. Not only would it prevent the grendel mother from laying gargole eggs, the proper norn egglayer couldn't find the file anymore either and just produce a new problematic file in the same spot.
