Is there anyone who has any idea if there is an agent or such that lets norns lay their eggs underwater? I can't make a wolfling run with aquanorns without such, cause they don't go on land when pregnant. So the eggs are never laid. I found the tool for hatching egg under water, but that is not the problem.... |

Are you sure your norn isn't just unable to lay eggs at all? Some mutations can cause creatures to never properly do it. I tested in my world and found that norns can lay eggs underwater even if you don't have Markus K's water eggs installed, they just don't hatch underwater.
Also, are you using the Swimmer Agent? Norns can't lay eggs while in the SwimmerAgent vehicle. There are other swimming agents that were created by the community and cause the norn to be incapable of swimming while pregnant. The latest swimmer agent I know of is the Swimming Agent V3 by Grendel_Man |

Ahhhhh... thank you! The norn laid the egg on land at once. So she couldn't be incabable of laying it at all, but I didn't know that they can't lay the egg, when using the swimming agent. That is obviously the problem. In the meantime I saw myself norns laying eggs underwater, but I didn't know why some can and some can't.
I will check my swimming agent and use the newest!
Thank you very much! :-)

The Swimming Agent works by monitoring a certain chemical in the creatures. Breeds that can swim have been altered to produce this chemical. The presence of this chemical tells the Swimming Agent vehicle to activate around that creature. As long as the creature is in the vehicle, they can't lay their egg. So as long as that chemical is in the creature, they can't lay the eggs in the water, because they can't leave the vehicle. In a few creature breeds someone created a new organ call the swim bladder. This organ helps swimming creatures lay their eggs while underwater. As a pregnancy progresses, the Swim Bladder will lower the swimming chemical until it deactivates the swimming vehicle, which lets the creature stop swimming and lay the egg.
If the underwater creatures you saw laying eggs had the swim bladder organ or were from non-swimming species, that would be why they could still lay eggs underwater. |

You don't even need an organ for it, the problem can be overcome with a set of two genes working together. The original Aquanorns and perhaps a few other aquatic breeds however did not have the necessary edits.

I think I have original Aquanorns and the new ones, I mean those with the new genome and I have the Dream-Aqua-Norns. I could be that those I had to put on land were the original ones and that later I had only the ones with the new genome and the Dream-Aqua-ones. ANd that those laid their eggs underwater.
I would check this, but my Creatures 3 does not work at the moment. |
