Universal Edibility Patch For Animals | |

I'd like to be able to make a universal edibility patch, so that all objects that stim "Ate an Animal" if eaten (critters, bugs, pests, and animal eggs) can in fact be eaten. There are some cool things about the brainedits I'm working on right now, but a problem I keep having is that they have serious issues with incompatible critters/etc. If they encounter a critter that isn't eatable, they develop feeding issues really fast and can be a little challenging to retrain, though it isn't impossible so long as you purge all nonedible critters/etc. from their environment.
Mostly the issue I'm having is with critters, but to be safe, I'd like to be able to cover all four relevant agent types.
Is this possible? Say, with a .cos file? If so, how would one go about doing that?
EDIT: Apparently the censor had a problem with the phrase "a bit. challenging" and thought I was trying to say a bad word. LOL

Try looking at the cos file "z_DS creaturesAffectingAnimals.cos", that post-hoc alters a lot of different agents in the DS world.

Okay so I had some idea what I was doing back in 2019 but I've forgotten 9/10ths of my CAOS. x.x JAgent still hates me, so I'm having trouble getting ahold of existing agent code to peek at.

I assume you'd use the bhvr altering part of the "z_DS creaturesAffectingAnimals.cos" that was mentioned above, changed that to check for eat, and then make scrp 2 (critter/bug/pest/a.egg genus number) 0 12, with an inst stim writ and kill targ sort've thing.
EDIT: On another note, that same cos should probably also stim writ hit animal. It's kinda strange it doesn't, but it's an important stim.
You know...wait...nevermind... wait...no...umm...maybe later... |

You don't need Jagent to view the code in "z_DS creaturesAffectingAnimals.cos" - just a text editor or the CAOS Tool.

I never got far with this .__. My problem was trying to attach the edibility-making part to the create script as opposed to just having an agent go thru and make them edible |

Yeah. I was poking at the .cos today. But I wanted to reference existing agents to get an idea of what exactly I should be changing/adding. CAOS has never been my strong suit, alas, and I've forgotten most of what I used to know. Although it's coming back to me bit by bit.
What wasn't working, FEN? Any progress you made may still help me figure it out, if it can be done. (TBH I'm willing to settle for having an agent do it if I can keep it from being overly laggy. It'd allow certain metarooms to be usable, at least, without worrying about maladaptive learning occurring when they try to eat, say, those little yellow birds in C12DS.)
