Hello! I used to love Creatures (and I still do) but I was wondering, are there any games that are similar, or so-called spiritual-ancestors but newer? I would prefer titles available on Steam. Can you even name something or are the Creatures so unique? |

People really like Wobbledogs on this site. It's on Steam, and is a silly game where gut bacteria equals mutation. You can breed and play with the dogs. The dogs don't have a real AI involving neurons. There's also a game literally called Ecosystem on Steam, it has simulations of evolution, DNA, and neurons. Ecosystem takes place in a gigantic ocean. Creatura is a game that simulates evolution, gene editing and DNA. Also on Steam. Species: Artificial Life, Real Evolution is again on Steam. I haven't bought any of the games yet. |

Darn, cyborg beat me to it!  I have all of those, and I only bought them because people were comparing them to Creatures. Some of them are more game-like, some less, and a few get more into the nitty-gritty. Creatura is VERY nitty-gritty about the genetics, right down to the nucleotide. I think Wobbledogs is the most gamelike out of them. So it largely depends on what you want out of it!Science is a beautiful gift to humanity; We should not distort it. |
