Aquatic norn or grendel?

Finally my interest in Creatures was spurred again, so I wanted to draw something from it, which eventually turned to me wanting to make a breed. But I don't know which to make - there are already a few aquatic norns, but I haven't seen many aquatic grendels. Before I start to draw the sprites, though, I want to know what other people think. Should I make a:

This will probably come of as no surprise from me, but I'd go with the grendel. Besides the fact that grendels and ettins are severely neglected in terms of third-party breeds, I feel the general body shape of a shark would fit a grendel better than it would a norn.

Also of the two concepts here I just like the grendel's better.

I knew it [nlaugh] I thought it would look better on grendels too. Thanks for telling me!

I think the grendel goes better with the kind of toontown-y look you were probably going for on it.

Gotta agree with everyone else, I feel like this idea would do well as a grendel breed.

Maybe change up the face a little bit, though? Don't get me wrong, it is very well done. However, it still makes more of a mammalian impression to me, like a norn. Not sure what it is, the shape of the nose I believe?
I'd say making it either more reptilian (like a grendel) or more fishy (like a shark) would benefit this design.

Definitely Shark Grendel. Dolphin or Whale would work better as a Norn breed. However I like both pieces of concept art a lot!

~both. I know people says shark fits grendel better. But I always like somethin g that was considered cute but has fierce features you know?

That's true, GhastlyMirror, but there are already breeds like the Deep Norn and the Zoran Norn and the Pearl Mermaid, but not a good amount of grendels, which is why I'm already working on my Shark Grendel. I'll definitely take that into consideration when I finish him, though!

Grendel look really nice with your style. The 2nd one also looks good, but it doesn't suit as well as a grendel. Is this your only style of doing art, or can you do it in any other way? I'm no artist, but I like to see what others are capable of creating :)

Well, I can, RMiller, and you can check it out in Gallery! Of course, these drawings were just concepts to capture the general idea.

Those both look really good, I think the Grendel definitely suits the shark design better though. Although the shark Norn is still pretty cute!
