General Forum Metaroom Idea    Wup   6/17/2007 I was thinking...my norns have gotta be homsick on that ark...why don't we make a metaroom of the surface of Sphericus? I'll be upstairs, doing concept art for about 15 mins. I'll post 'em soon. ps. I haven't played Monster Raannnrrrnnchhdoggy   Moe     6/17/2007 Homesick? No norn has ever even seen Sphericus, let alone lived upon it. :p As a general rule of thumb, I advise against making add-ons that mimic canon events that haven't occurred, it's bad for the continuity of a series. I don't mean to cramp your creativity or development by any means, in fact, I support it, but consider what I said when deciding upon your location, or the location you are reflecting.   Malkin Manager     6/17/2007 What's wrong with making addons that presage future canon events? C4 or C3D is years away, if ever, unfortunately - we may never get a "canon" Sphericus. Why not build on what we've got? (Mind you, asking Lisa might be an idea before beginning, ES. ) My TCR Norns   Moe     6/17/2007 From my experience in other communities, there was so much modding that involved future events, that the official developers had nothing to work with for future titles. As an artist, it's creatively cramping to develop something that has already been extensively developed by others.   Wup   6/18/2007 @ Moe: They haven't been on real land for...how long? Though yes, no norn on either vessel has ever set foot on a planet of any nature. All they know is the ships. I'll bet when humans have generation ships there'll be interesting discussions over staying on ship or going to the new planet Back again! It's better if you contact Lisa because the metaroom would be your project. You could always start work to begin with, and just change the name if Lisa says no, couldn't you? I feel that we could retcon any Sphericuses (Sphericii?) and C4s as being in a parallel universe once the *real* C4/C3D comes out. (in however many years). There's no excuse not to have a working e-mail address these days. How about Gmail, or Windows Live Hotmail, or Yahoo Mail, or mail.com, or any of a huge number of other free e-mail providers? Just plop some personal information (whether of dubious validity or not) in there, and off you go. Not having an e-mail address of any kind in these days of multiple-gigabytes-of-storage free accounts is pretty silly. However, with *proper* supervision, an email for a youngster shouldn't be a problem. It's only when the word supervision doesn't appear in the parent's vocabulary that they usually just rule out that sort of contact ability completely.
