Help Forum Unable to play a new file on Creatures 3    Scratchybird   10/31/2024  1 Hi! I have this problem with creatures 3 on my windows 10, I have the GoG version. Whenever I try to start a new game I get this error It otherwise works just fine when I play the first file I created but if I try to play another file I get this message. If it does help I did at one point install custom norns and a couple of other mods. Thank you in advance!   Peppery One Papriko   10/31/2024 How strange that it happens on fresh worlds..... Say, the mods that you downloaded, did any of them require you to put a file ending in ".cos" into the game by hand? Those are usually automatically loaded when you make a new world. Better yet: do you happen to have a list of all the things you got? Also, blnk.s16, isn't that the default blank image? How'd that go missing? It was like months ago when I installed these mods but I have these I kind of like noticed new files stopped working so I stopped playing but I wanna play again now lol   Scratchybird   10/31/2024 Hold on it somehow fixed itself? I got bored and downloaded more agent files (sorry) and cleared some disk space and now I can suddenly play my other files now. Perhaps that was the issue all along? Although now it seems like it'll not let me choose an egg on the new file. Unless I forgot how to like activate it which is totally possible it's been a while   Peppery One Papriko   10/31/2024 That looks like it got struck down by autokill. Autokill is a feature where if an agent has a glitch, the game just deletes it instead of crashing. If your egg layer is gone like that, it probably had some sort of problem. My best guess here is that you installed a breed that you didn't have the sprites for, or it didn't install the sprites right. The egg layer tried to load an image that doesn't exist, which caused a glitch and it was deleted. Also, "030 Other Mods"? Did you make that folder yourself or where does it come from? Oh, and out of curiosity: is there any particular reason you don't play docking station instead? It can load all of C3, and has a slightly newer engine. Lets play plants! Photosynthesis... Photosynthesis...   Scratchybird   10/31/2024 Honestly I don't remember where 030 other mods came from But yeah it would probably just be easier to play docking station instead which does work just perfectly without any issue so I'll probably just play that instead But thank you for all your help anyways!   Mandymom   10/31/2024  1 I’ve honestly not really played c3 standalone, at least not in a long time Grendels aren't so bad, but I love Ettins! They're adorable! The complexity of creatures is quite amazing.
