So I was playing with Doringo's new Midgard Norns breed when I decided I wanted to crossbreed them with Cameron to get some musical, brainy creatures. My first attempt can be downloaded below:

She moves left and right, but never takes her eye focus off herself or eats. She's not a true COTM but I thought she might be interesting. Does anyone know why she's like this?

I recall I didn't set musical instincts to the Midgards because instruments didn't seem to provide the kind of effect to norns during testing that I could tie an instinct to. Apparently they do provide nfp decrease and boredom decrease, but it happens at a very low amount that makes it very difficult to notice.
All brain lobes are non-mutatable in Midgards since mutation of a brain lobe causes too many steps to happen at once for anything to really evolve out of it. But I don't really think the camerons do that.
I had a look at the genome of the norn you exported and I don't see any of the Nova backported lobes in there, but all of the vanilla ones there are non-mutatable. However, attention is meant to be receiving source from a Lobe#10, which does not exist in this norn's genome, may be the source of the problem with it.
Basically you only got part of the architecture and it's meant to be linked up with something that wasn't inherited, this is kind of a thing that just happens when you breed norns with different brains together. |
