Potential C2 Trumpet Plant bug | |

While trying to fix one of Nina's COBs, me and Verm may have run into a bug in Trumpet Plants that never seems to have been identified before.
The Trumpet Plant's sprites show a flying seed and an animation that plays when the plant releases one, but as far as we can tell, they never actually do this. This seed is distinct from the seed released by the seed launcher. Verm's interpretation of the scripts is that the plant was supposed to play the animation and create a seed when a creature approaches and the plant has a fruit ready; however, it never actually checks if there's a creature nearby, and furthermore the flying seeds seem to also be broken and never spawn new plants even if you inject one directly.
What I'm asking for is: has anyone ever seen a C2 Trumpet Plant release a flying seed? I know the C3DS conversion does, but I'm talking about the native C2 plant. |

I don't even recall the original C2 trumpet plant doing any such thing, so it is highly possible that its still bugged despite previous attempts to fix it.
From the depths of Deep Lurkspace I emerge... And suddenly can't remember what it is I came up for. |

I've only seen the converted version do it. The original version always propagated from a decaying fruit and usually maintained a constant population that way. |

Is that a fix someone else put out? I haven't seen anything in the original scripts that would indicate decayed fruits producing seeds or plants. I'm working on a fix for Trumpet Plants that lets them do all of these behaviors they were intended to do and it should be up later today. |

Maybe I'm thinking of a similar plant. I know the trumpet plants always maintained a consistent population, but that could just have been because they didn't die. |
