I decided after years to play Docking Station again without C3 installed. I have all of the mall breeds from buying them many years ago. However, when I try to install them it says it cannot detect C3. Do I NEED C3 installed to install the mall breeds? I tried putting the mall breed installer files in the DS directory but it still didn't "detect C3". |

To my knowledge, you don't need to use the installer directly for the mall breeds to work correctly. It's just a self-extracting archive that'll put the .agents file in the correct location automatically. So if you use 7zip or a similar program on the installer, you should be able to extract the .agents file and move it to its correct location manually. There might also be an option in the installer itself to install the breeds to C3 or DS and you might've just left the C3 option checked accidentally, but it's been so long since I installed the breeds myself that I actually don't remember if that option's even there or not (and if it does chances are you only had the DS option checked and still got the error anyway). It is just an exe file that when run asks me to accept the TOS and when I do then gives me the message i don't have C3 or DS on my computer. I guess I mised the DS part, but it's not registering that either. I have installed and started up Docking Station using C1toDS's log-in disabler to start a world. I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Unfortunately I have no idea how to overcome this problem.. When I open the exe with 7zip it gives me an egg agent that I can put in my agents folder, but no .att image files or anything.. the only other files are installoptions.dll and sparky.ini. I don't know if extracting the egg agents into my agents folder would be enough to install the whole mall breed, image files and genetic files and all? |

Have you tried the Remastered patch? That might help tell the installers where the DS game is installed. |

The agent should be perfectly fine as is. When creating the first egg you will simply get the obligatory lag-spike when the game manually unpacks the .att and the .c16 and what not, just as you do with third party breeds. As far as I know that is how they used to ship the mall breeds for linux and mac users. They simply sent you that very same agent file. Lets play plants! Photosynthesis... Photosynthesis... Okay. Thank you Papriko! I will try just unpacking the agent file into my agents folder. I have run out of time at the moment to do it, i have to get dinner ready. But I will try this as soon as I can! |

The old exe installers can be quite finicky, especially with newer OSes, just extracting the .agents is the best way. The exe's add nothing of value. |
