Ensuring C3DS cos files are working

Heya.

I'm having an issue with a few downloads, particularly the C3 Weather Patch and the
Creatures 3 map patch
, as well as others I'm sure now. I have to the best of my knowledge installed the files to the correct places, however, they do not appear to be running. Using the JECT command does not seem to get them to run either.

I have tried running With a docked world and with C3 standalone, to no effect as far as I can tell.

Am I missing something?

Sorry for the double post, I don't think you can edit posts here? Anyway, I think I might have been trying to use these agents on existing worlds, when bootstrap files only work upon a new world being created. I'll try that and see how it goes I guess.

EDIT: Here we go, time limit I guess. Nope, it didn't work with a new world either, I'm at a bit of a loss.

can you TELL they're not working? i think those specific COS updates can't really be noticed upon making a new world

With the weather update it is very hard to tell to be fair, but going off the thermometers of the Heater and Heat Lamp agents, and the Ecology Kit, I don't think the rooms are heating up like they're supposed to be.

the Creatures 3 Map Patch is definitely not working, it's supposed to, amongst other things, stop Norns falling off the wooden platforms. It's not doing this, so I'm wondering if there's an issue I'm having with bootstrap files in general.

did you install the game anywhere other than My Documents? (i'm not sure if COS files get installed in the documents folder, but just in case)

Yea, I installed it through GOG Galaxy to my E:/GOG Games folder, was that incorrect?

EDIT: The error seems to be with the squishy bit at the keyboard, I assumed the cos file edited the wrong platform. That probably means everything else was working too. Who knows?! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For the smoothest C3/DS experience I highly recommend reinstalling the game to your My Documents/Creatures folder (Note: NOT directly to your My Documents folder, otherwise uninstalling the game has the potential to delete the entire folder), as it means that whenever a new agent is injected the game will have access to the files right away, rather than having to manually move them from the folder to whatever directory you have it installed it.

If you do choose the My Documents route and want to test if the catalogue files are extracting properly, try the Catalogue tester located on Naturing :: Nurturing here, and it will tell you if it can locate the file or not.

Hope this helps! If you have any problems feel free to PM me. :)

That worked great, thank you!
