Windows 10 and WineD3D for Creatures 2 | |

I have been trying to get Creatures 2 to run well on Windows 10 for a while, and tried the suggestions on the wiki, but none of them helped with the lag I was experiencing, so I searched for other ddraw wrappers and found one that worked for me - WineD3D (by putting the ddraw.dll, libwine.dll and wined3d into the main folder of the game)
The applets don't render properly when they are attached to the top or side bar, but making them free-floating seems to make them display properly, though the scroll bars don't render properly and flicker when you scroll (though switching to full-screen does make them disappear), nor does the status bar, and the eye-view is sometimes flickery and world objects show through it.
Images are here (Imugr).
I was wondering if some other people who experience lag in Windows 10 could try this, as this seems to be the best I have found so far for running C2 on my computer, and if it works it could be put up on the wiki as another potential workaround on the C2 page. |

Good find! Kind of a shame about the graphical glitches though, but I guess it's something that isn't really important as long as the game runs properly.
As far as I know the status bar at the bottom has never rendered properly on Windows 10. No idea why. |

I know this is very unhelpful, but for me on up-to-date Windows 10, the GOG version of C2 just worked. I mean, the interface is still a bit awful but it functioned as intended. |

I tried running C2 from GOG.com on Windows 10 and it lagged like hell unless I ran at a lower screen resolution. |
