Cross-Breeding Aquatic Creatures | |

I was wondering if there was a way to tell if a given creature is aquatic, short of knowing the breed? For instance, if I bred a Hydrolisk with a Banshee Grendel, is there an app or something I could use to determine if the beastie were able to breathe under the water? Like an organ or something? The X-Ray isn't terribly useful here. If not, then perhaps I should hold off on cross-breeding. |

The only thing I can suggest is to set the Xray to detect oxygen, put the hybrid in water and see if the level goes down. That way you can rescue it if it didn't inherit the amphibious genes. Sometimes amphibious breeds have an additional organ, sometimes they don't, sometimes other creatures have an additional organ for whatever reason, so looking for extra organs isn't really going to help. There are lots of ways of making a Creature aquatic.

The most surefire way is to find the creature's moniker and examine its genome in a genetics editor. It'll be tricky to find the relevant gene because the genome won't have a caption file - you'll probably need the gene number. I think there's a tutorial somewhere for making aquatic and/or amphibious creatures, which might help. |

Wow, thanks guys! I think the X-Ray is the only one size fits all solution here. Thanks! |
