Hello there!
I wanted to share with the wider community that I have finished the writeup (so far) of the Creatures 3 & Docking Station Community Recommended Fixes and Add-ons, a guide and list of add-ons selected by myself and members of the community to act as a resource for players both new and old.
This is a living document, and as such, it is always open to suggestions for additions and changes, so if you have any please don't hesitate to get in touch!
I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who helped with the project so far, from suggestions to encouragement. You folks are a wonderful community to be a part of!

I like this! I'm going through the recommended fixes right now. I don't remember which of these I've downloaded, so I'll just grab them all.
Some thoughts:
You recommend the C12DS TWB/TCB genomes, but not C12DS itself! I feel like that C12DS is highly recommendable, though. It provides a huge new metaroom to raise creatures in, tons of agents, and the old breeds from the first game. That, of course, got a patch of its own recently. Those who enjoy it may also enjoy the breed the Wildkat Norns--a breed deliberately styled after the C1 sprites, but with a more modern genome. (They're not TWB, but do use the more modern brain structure.)
Also, the Norngarden has a third room available you didn't list: the XMas Room! This is a smaller room with most of the usual Norngarden plants, plus a new toy and source of food. It adds a bit more space to the Norngarden area and fits nicely in with them.
Also, some things I highly recommend:
Agents:
-Vocabulizer: An agent that, when pressed, teaches all creatures in the world all vocabulary. Useful for those who don't like having to teach their creatures vocab (like me). Also connectable, so can be set up to activate on a regular basis!
-Egg Hatcher: A simple agent. Click it and it hatches all the eggs it's touching! What more could you ask for?
-Crunchy Beetle: These fast-breeding beetle critters make an excellent food source for carnivorous creatures. Be warned, though, they're very prolific! You can always click the "remove agent" button if they get out of hand.
Metarooms:
-The Biodome: This one is definitely ADVANCED. It's a huge room with many customizable parts, including optional water areas, and can accomodate many, many creatures! The downside? IT HAS NO BUILT-IN AGENTS! No food, no toys, no elevators, no nothin'! You will need to populate it yourself, using other agents like Garden Box and the Super Food Vendor, with Elevines for elevators. This means it's NOT very suitable for more casual players... but for players who want to fully customize a metaroom and raise creatures in an environment of their choosing, it's excellent. |
