Mushroom Caverns - Early Test Release!Hello community! I have recently made the decision to publicly release an early testing version of the Mushroom Caverns terrarium, which is a metaroom project of mine which I have been working on since Monday the 27th of March 2017.

The early test release of the metaroom includes custom music, CA links and emitters and a favourite place (with a norn meso placeholder sprite). There are no lifts or flora/fauna in the test release version of the metaroom so for the time being, it is advised that you use agents such as the Garden box and Elevines to make the room habitable for your creatures.

I hope people will enjoy this early release of the metaroom. If there are any bugs or errors in the metaroom, feel free to message me here at CreaturesCaves or to leave a comment on the development page of my blog.

I truly enjoy the cave environment and the semi-alien mushrooms is a great touch as well as an interesting light source. It's also cool how you've chosen to make the top a sort of grassy plains that has a world hidden beneath the soil, rather than going with a more obvious rocky landscape.

I -love- rooms with custom music, how you mixed C2 & C3 together to create a unique track is a lot of fun. I really enjoy the dripping sounds, they really set an atmospheric (although I'm not completely sure if this is in the music or a background sound, but I got the impression it's the previous).

I find the broad color spectrum slightly distracting to be honest, but that's more of a personal preference. The room sort of looks "cut off" to the right too, is this part of the preview or will it be like that later? Either is nice, I'm just being curious :)

Thanks for the preview~

Hello everyone. Though I am somewhat afraid to admit it, my Mushroom Caverns Terrarium metaroom is going to be put on hiatus. But there is good news!: The reason for this is because I'm actually now working on a metaroom with a much grander design that I am more attached to. I have everything I need already planned out, flora/fauna, toys, dispensers, music, etc and the background. You can expect teasers in the nearby future, aswell as an expansion pack after the metaroom's release. [ngrin]

P.S: I may give out hints regarding the metaroom in the comments and disussions to specific questions.

Sad to hear that this had to be iced, I really enjoy the concept of it. Nevertheless, it's a hiatus after all, not 100% canceled. I'm really happy and grateful that you released what you got in either case, it's an awesome little room as is that can flourish with a few agents & Garden Box stuff added ^^

It turns out that in spite of my plans, they are just not in depth enough to carry their own weight self-sufficiently. Aswell as that, execution has proven tricky. I do not think I can fulfill these promises in a timely fashion, but rather the best policy I can hold right now is to only announce my projects when they are atleast halfway finished (which in of itself isn't set in stone at all, and could aswell be quarterway), and to not plan too much for the future, as stuff changes. It's kinda like when you try to plan out a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, the players just wander off and your plans become much less valuable to you.

I do apologize to everyone who were expecting an exciting and slow build-up to the release of the metaroom and getting extra content for it even post-release in the form of an expansion pack, however the grandiosity of the plan is exactly what leads to its downfall, which is why I actually cannot promise as much as I would love to.

This doesn't quite mean the metaroom is out of the window, or that I'm quitting metaroom or creatures development at all, but rather that I feel I need to slow down and not burden myself with so many careless promises. Even when they feel reasonable at the time, I don't know until I actually start trying to make it.
