General Forum CCSF 2017 - Need your opinions!    Fuzzy Dragonhat Pilla        4/3/2017  2 Hello all! I'm not saying I will host the CCSF. If someone wants to volunteer, then by all means feel free to step up! I would like to know some things about this year's CCSF. - When do you think it should be held? Which month? - Who is going to organize this CCSF? Volunteers please! Or is there someone you think would love to organize this? Please tell! - Which theme would you like to see? - What kind of releases would you love? - What kind of events do you think would be nice? - What kinds of contests would you want to participate in? Aaand.. - What kind of prizes do you want? Also, please state if you would like to contribute. What are your talents? What do you want to do? Wat do you want to become better at? You don't HAVE to answer each question, but I'd really love any and all input. So get your fingers movin' and reply! I always want a grendel theme because that's my favorite species, lol. But to be less selfish, a "not-norn" theme could be interesting. I've heard that C2 has it's anniversary though so that could be another option. Yet I cannot help to think that the latest CCSF been a bit "tiered" the last years so theme may be a bit of a luxury as anything would be awesome. Maybe "keep the spirit alive" should be the theme :I - What kind of events? Some sort of spriter & coder pair up could be fun. Give them a limited time to produce something. But it may be hard to find enough people for this. Wolfing runs is a classic! I'd love to see a closely monitored one with a load of screenshots c: - What kinds of contests? Artistic stuff is always fun, such as writing, drawing & making concepts. Maybe best use of Garden box, magic words & other agents could be a thing. Another idea could be to present sets of sprites and have coders produce something using them. - What kind of prizes? This is a hard one... Getting to make an art (creatures themed) or agent request? A bonus here would be that the prizes can be enjoyed by everyone yet be special to the winner. Maybe giving out copies of the gog.com version could be a thing, but I have a feeling most got full versions of the games at this point... Maybe ones get to choose from a prize pool, then that wouldn't be an issue. I can contribute. - When would you like the CCSF to be held, and why? Late September/early October or possibly middle November seem good as there is no "back to school" or prolonged holidays going on there. Early August could work too, but there is a risk of people being away on summer vacation. On the other hand, for the same reason, people may also have more time to be active.   Lodestar Doringo     4/4/2017  1 Didn't we already do this? I am possibly thinking about hosting a few contests in the future however. I also think that a CCSF doesn't *have* to be restricted by it's theme, as many of the oldest CCSFs just used rather vague themes such as "Celebration and Surprise" and "Community", not to also mention "Back to our roots". However, I fully intend to this year. I'm doing some major updates and changes to my Dragons and I hope to release the final version for CCSF. I'm also hoping to do some artistic contributions. I'm slowly learning to do agent art, and more slowly learning to use CAOS. By the time the festival rolls around I might even be able to produce a useable agent or two. As for what I'd like to see? Honestly, just anything. There's so few of us left that it seems foolish to be picky. I hate to put it that way, but... yeah. If there's enough of us left to hold one at all, that's a success in itself. Conclude with killer catchphrase. (Lurhstaap) "This is not knowledge - this is information!" November seems to have become the most used month in the past, seems like as good a time as any. I recomend we keep it short, maybe 5 days or a week tops so that we don't have to spread the content so thin. That way it will feel like more is happening.   Linda     7/18/2017  1 If there's gonna be an art contest, I'm definately gonna participate in that, for what it's worth! I think something to get community members involved with these projects would be awesome! Although, it seems like Banshee Ark is just about covered... Maybe a bug-testing party? Is that a thing? Keep in mind the design isn't final - we can come up with something once the theme's been decided on (assuming whoever's coordinating is happy to go the WordPress route, that is). We put out a masquerade mask template that you can print out, and everybody can draw on them and we'll have a Creatures Masquerade. We can send in selfies, or just pictures of the masks for those who don't want to show their faces (it's a masquerade after all!)
