Snooze is really quite the tragic case.
The fun really began when I exported him and emailed his .exp to my friend [who I'll just call E]. She wanted to see if he would be buggy in hers as well as mine [as I was telling her about him sleeping for a lot longer than he should have, all while standing and moving in place].

E
[runs to get]
uhh
are zzzs coming off ur Snooze while hes sleeping???

Me
yep

E
oh good for a few seconds i thought he was dead when i imported him but he just took a few seconds to open his eyes HAHA

Me
oh thank gOD LMAO
im gonna stick him back in mine nd see if he stops buggin out
double study of mr sleepyhead

He refused to eat for her, even though he was saying "snooze food" he was dropping it immediately after. She also said the Science Kit showed him in a constant state of pain, with the pain meter spiking up every few seconds, which is strange because in MY Science Kit, his need for pleasure was the one spiking up.
It was at this point she told me how to wake him, by giving him a tickle and a smack. Things looked bleak, until:

E
HE HAS EATEN

She couldn't get him to do it again, but it was promising that he ate at all. I still had yet to coax him into eating the strained carrots I downloaded specifically for him.

E
he also has a strange way of looking at things
his tracker might be showing something behind him when hes walking away from an object, and i wont be able to get his attention from waving something in that space until i move what hes locked onto

This was true for my Snooze as well. Apparently he has a very one-track mind ;B

Me
im really curious to know what happened to him
i heard theres a genetics kit maybe using that will tell

E
i just dont think its within the reach of the game for that to be possible with a hatchery norn

Me
then,,, what did i do
ahhhhh
HE ATE A CARROT
GES EATING MORE
HE ATE A LEMON

E
it seems the pain problem is the word push
i just dont know where hes messed up with it
i think the eating weve seen so far is the force eating that happens when hunger reaches 0
its definitely the word push because he wont push toys or eat plants
on command that is

Note that I have both the improved carrots and improved lemons from Discover Albia, which both are supposed to make remembering to eat easier on Norns [especially the lemons, they have no pain increase].
We were at a standstill. We had no idea what was going on; why did this Norn sleep so, so much and not understand how to push items?
I then realized I had the Science Kit still open, and got a bit confused.

As you can see, his anger spiked up twice [you can also see his need for pleasure go up]. Those spikes correspond with the eating times, but they don't really make sense with the improved foods he ate.
E needed him to sleep to check one last thing, but he wouldn't sleep in hers. He had fallen asleep in mine so I went to check [she wanted a screenshot of his brain scan] but of course, with my luck, he actually woke himself up for the first time right as I opened the tab! He did fall asleep soon after, though, so I screenshotted the brain and sent it on to E.
She then told me the startling news:

E
ive found the problem!

Me
!!!!

E
his brain is asleep when hes awake and his brain is awake when he sleeps

Me
SERIOUSLY

E
-She sent the attached image comparing brain scans here-

Me
WHAT THE HELL

E
YA

Me
HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE

E
it seems its like the norn equivalent of a brain disorder of some sort

Me
i guess hatchery norns CAN be screwed up

E
it seems so. it may be a bug but it seems pretty specific

After this I tried searching around to see if anyone had experienced this before, to no avail. So we left off for the night, as we didn't know how to figure out what caused it or if we could fix it so he could live happily. There's something very heart-wrenching seeing your Norn stare at food, starving, lifeforce around 30%, unable to figure out how to eat it :< Hopefully, whoever is reading this has better luck than we have had. As for me, I'm just going to do my best to make sure whatever is left of his life is happy.
