The Farbe genome is a genetic modification for creatures which makes their color mutations have a more realistic and better-looking appearance (note for creatures genetic engineers: what I did in this genome was disable pigment mutations, allowing for colors to change only through pigment bleed mutations). In the image to your left, you can see an example of a realistic and good-looking color-mutated norn.

The download includes egg agents with the Farbe genome for all official norn breeds and .gen files with the Farbe genome for all official creature breeds.

Based on the CFE genome.

Credits to Vampess for the creation of the original CFE genome and to Sparkleblue from SeeYou7.Net for the excellent explanation of pigment mutations on her website.

Aqua Grendels, as their name suggests, are amphibious grendels. They're resistant to coldness, mostly carnivorous, and are generally more placid than normal grendels (though they're not completely friendly - get them too crowded, and they're just as violent as other grendels). Baby grendels tend to go after bugs, then graduate to a critter diet when they reach adolescence.

They use the sprites of the C3 Grendels (Grendel A).

The Draconian norns are a very different breed of Norn to those that you may have raised before. Having evolved in a very different environment to that of the Albian Norns, there are a number of important differences that you need to be aware of when raising Draconians.

While the adults are hardier, resistant to infection and injury, the newborn wyrmlings are not so lucky. When newly hatched, extra care needs to be taken to keep them away from harm as their unfinished bones and scales are weak and fragile, and their immune system hasn't fully adapted to cope with invading bacteria or toxins. They have some limited resistance from when they were a part of their mother, but this can fade quickly.

As they grow to childhood, they gain more control over their powerful immune system and can begin to explore safely without risk of a dangerous infection. At the adult stage, they gain extra immunological advancements and can fight off infections and injury easier than regular Norns.

They age slower, and live longer, spending roughly 60% more time in each life-stage. In general, their biochemistry is more relaxed than a regular Norn's. Chemicals will not degrade so quickly in their systems: This applies to medicines and toxins alike.

Draconians are carnivorous: They eat meat. Feed them critters; feed them bugs. They can digest plants, too, but they really prefer meat. Feed them pests, but be warned that some pests, such as stingers, can be very poisonous and can overwhelm a baby Draconian Norn's immune response very quickly.

For an added treat, download the Draconian Voice Pack. Keep in mind that these files overwrite the original sound files, so be sure to make backup copies before installing the .wav files!

The Beowulf Norns' appearance is based on the Bondi Norn sprites, which caused a stir a few years ago! They have four ages: baby, youth, adult and old. The Beowulf Norns are said to be genetically similar to the Hardman Norns, are tougher than normal Norns, have an improved immune system, don't starve easily and fight back against Grendels, as in the myth.

The default grendel included with Creatures 3. Compared to their predecessors, jungle grendels are far more likely to attack norns, and they have a tendency to steal eggs and take them to the Jungle Terrarium. They also have a greater appetite than norns, and are generally antisocial unless trained otherwise.

The Twilight Norns are not photo-sensitive, but have a night theme regardless. They're resistant to coldness and slapping, dislike crowds, are somewhat aggressive, can play with all the nastiness of nature with no ill effect and tend to stay awake for longer periods of time than normal Norns do. They call the Jungle Terrarium home and females will go there to lay their eggs. They also resist ATP Decoupler and Cyanide, the former moreso than the latter.

As you can see, the Twilight Norns use the Hardman Norn sprites. You can still use the Twilight Norns if you don't have the Hardman Norns, but they may cause issues with the C3 egg layer, in addition to not resembling the Twilight Norns in the picture.

The Ghostly norns is a breed I made a few years back, so I decided to update the info file and re-release them here.

They are a simple C3/DS breed that have no genetic differences to normal norns; but with their semi-transparent bodies, visible decaying hearts and foxfire tails, they look spoOOOooky! Perfect for Halloween! ;)

Unlike other Norns, Ghostly norns never smile... but that doesn't mean they are unhappy! They have the same feelings as any other norn.

Special thanks to Norngirl and Razgriz for their support.

Pink Poodle Ettins are still Ettins, but they lost the drive to steal machines and gadgets and take them everywhere. However, they like to play and they can become bored easily. So make sure you always have enough toys at hand to entertain them!

Pink Poodle Ettins aren't less resistant to diseases and getting hit from other creatures than normal Ettins are. They can be considered more as a pet than a roaming, homeless Creature, such as the normal Ettins are. Pink Poodle Ettins like to cuddle and stay mostly with the pack. They like Norns and to be near them. Sometimes they can get a bit on a Norn's nerves...

Pink Poodle Ettins will walk on four legs most of their lives (just like dogs do). They crawl through their whole lives, which is, just like a dog's, a bit shorter as the one of a normal Ettin.

As soon as they realize how good it feels to be pet and cuddled by other Poodle Ettins they can end up kisspopping a lot... So you'll never have problems getting some new little Pink Poodles! Pink Poodle Ettins get pubescent at the adult stage, just as normal Ettins do.

Includes an Ettin voice for DS standalone.

This breed can also be found at Breed Storage.

Aquanorns are amphibious, but they breathe a lot better under water than on land. In the first two life stages they still have legs which they can walk on, additionally to the already developing fish tail. However, in later life stages those short legs will disappear and they only will show a strong fish tail. From this life stage on they are able to swim.

Aquanorns are only able to swim with the help of a swimmer agent. Additionally, the genome of the norns must be adapted to it. There's no guarantee that "mixed" offsprings from Aquanorns and normal norns are able a) to breathe under water and b) to swim.

How to raise Aquanorns

After hatching, Aquanorns act quite independant. They will look very soon for the next lift, 'cause they want to "go down". As water usually is somewhere "down", their instinct tells them to go down and go into water. So make sure you place them near a lift near a pond or in the Aquagarden after hatching in order to allow them to reach the water they are looking for!
They are feeding on animals and they like the Foogoos a lot which can be found in the Aquagarden. They also like to eat seeds and they can also be raised with vegetarian food. However, it's more "natural" for them to look for fishes! Like normal norns, they should be reminded to eat throughout their life as they also tend to "forget" eating.
Aquanorns like to play with toys, just like all normal norns do. So make sure to give them something to play with. Swimming only isn't that much fun.

Reproduction

Aquanorns do it themselves, don't worry. The usual kisspop method does the trick for them as well! :-)

But please note:
Females normally lay their eggs on land. They can only lay their eggs under water if they aren't swimming and being located at the bottom of the pond. So it can take some time until a pregnant female actually lays her egg! You can speed this up by bringing the pregnant female on solid ground and soon she will lay her egg.

Eggs do not hatch under water! You have to take the eggs which are laid under water and put them somewhere on the land. There they will hatch normally.
